• Meet The Warthers •
John and Amy Warther have been involved in the Quarter Horse Industry as a hobby and passion for many years. Upon the acquisition of Oh Can I Please they decided to take their hobby to a new level.
John served thirty years in the US Army, so he didn’t have much time for horses. But as a youth he ran barrel horses and still enjoys watching the event. He returned to the show pen five years ago as an amateur and enjoyed many successes in western walk-trot classes, HUS, HS Equitation, and halter. His love for the halter horse continued to grow and was able to qualify an aged gelding for ‘07’s Bayer Select World and was reserve champion in the open and aged geldings at the ‘06 Region 3 show. He also showed in his first futurity in ‘07 and was rewarded with a win in the non-pro yearling stallion class. John is currently the District 2 Director for IQHA and actively participates in many volunteer activities.
Amy was heavily involved with Quarter Horses as a youth and was able to earn a Youth Championship and AQHA Championship when she was merely 16 years old. Due to her involvement in all-around events she has a great admiration of the athleticism of the breed. She took a 25 year hiatus from the sport and returned to the pen five years ago. Since her return, she has had success in showmanship, halter, barrels, walk-trot, and HUS. She is now a POAC, Iowa Open Show, and 4H accredited judge.
